Background Information
Antigone is a young Theban princess of 19 years. Much of her family members have recently perished. The deaths include Oedipus (Antigone’s father and former king of Thebes), Iocaste (Antigone’s mother), and Polyneices and Eteocles (Antigone’s brothers). Her family members that still remain include her Uncle Creon, her Aunt Eurydice, and her cousin Haimon whom is also her betrothed. She is of Greek ethnicity and presides in the city of Thebes, where is she is a princess in the royal family. She is very head strong, and very set in her ways of respecting the law of the gods. Some of her qualities include her stubbornness, rebelliousness, loyalty, and honor

The CBT will help her understand her own feelings and thoughts to a much farther extent. Antigone will learn how to recognize and alter damaging or negative thoughts that come with depression. The process was fairly easy with Antigone, she is very clear in speaking her mind and does not shy away from her opinions. We were both able to see the level of her depression and able to minimize it to a far more controllable state, where it does not affect her ability to make decisions and act upon them.
With Creon the CBT would best for him too. He would recognize what symptoms he is facing and would be better suited to control his problems. Likely for this it would be a one on one discussions about what his thoughts and feelings are and why they are the way they are. Although he is very vocal in what he believes, he is not able to see the real problems. He does not see the error of his ways clear and does not see the pain he has. After strenuous hours of discussions we were able to reduce the anger management issues to non-detrimental levels, and take out the paranoia as his first reasoning for
