This epic poem is about beowulf and the monsters that he faces thought the story . this story takes place in mid century england which both reflects on both pagan and christian traditions . in this epic poem there's a lot of monster that beowulf has to fight in this story but then main ones he has to fight is grendel and his mom. The way that the authors describes grendel and his mother is that he gives them some human qualities . the author describes grendel as a demon that brings fear to those around him that see him . he's a powerful monster that lives in the darkness and in a swamp . he's a ancestor of cain a person from the bible in some type way he is cain because he is killing the people of heorot and wants the throne to himself
