Wither it be you are the boss or the worker making sure you treat all who you interact with as you would treat the Lord. God does not care if you are a slave or a king the job that he being for you should be done with him in mind. As I was thinking about this idea of how my act of serving could be actually an act of service that Ephesians passage gave me light on how I should look at as service. Doing this act as if I was not only serving the customer but also God. Jesus tells us how he is in everyone when talking to Saul on the road to Damascus “He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” He asked, “Who are you, Lord?” The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting” (9:4-5). Jesus makes it clear that he is in everyone and no matter what we are doing we are interacting with him. …show more content…
Let’s be honest not everyone in the world is nice and sometimes people could have bad days. Jesus wants us to be the figure of Christ for them. That is also services we could do for other. There is the expression kill them with kindness. By acting Christ like we are not giving them a reason to think of us negatively and by a chance giving them time to be able to reflect in what their actions are. No matter what our job is like we have that chance to affect real change. In Gene Veith’s Vocation: The Theology of the Christian Life he says this “God does not need our good works, Luther said, but our neighbor does” (126). The actions we have towards our neighbors(everyone) is what look for us to do as

Finally, Christians often isolate themselves from the world because they do not believe their lives could make any difference. This problem often arises when people take Biblical truths, such as predestination, out of context. In Ephesian 1:4-5a, it reads, “According as he hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be hold and without blame before Him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself…” People take this to mean that God has chosen His people, so the rest of humanity can give up on the currently unsaved because if God wants them, He will call them. However, this problem arises because humans do not always view themselves as God’s tools as well as children.…

We must serve our awesome God. When God came to earth as a man, Jesus, he didn’t just enjoy it, he worked, he served others. There are so many examples in the Bible of serving others. 1 Peter 4:10, Matthew 20:28, Proverbs 11:25, 1 Corinthians 9:19. My favorite two verses that explain servantship so well are Acts 20:35, “....…

The Book of Ephesians is about the letters of Paul and how he overcame hardship by being faithful to God and following His commands. The author’s circumstances he went through, his relationship with God, the audience, and what his letters represented are the main elements that make up why these letters were so impactful. Paul went through a lot of pain and agony but God had is hand upon him the entire time. I am truly honored as being a nominee for the Easton Chapter National Honor Society. The standards that must be proven to be nominated by this prestigious society are an example of the hard work and dedication I have exemplified in school. Throughout my years of schooling, I have tried my hardest to get good grades, while also demonstrating the characteristics that make up the National Honor Society; they are leadership, service, and character. While I have exhibited all three throughout my educational career, I feel that my service characteristic stands out above the rest. Service can mean many things, but to me, it means helping someone perform a task they can’t complete themselves, sacrificing your time, and assisting the less fortunate.…

Oratorical Essay Jesus fed 5,000 people with five loaves and two fish which certainly did serve humanity in the naked eye of anyone. In three books of the Bible, Mathew, Luke and John have the same writings for such an important event in history, not only religion. In those days, it was super hard to stay alive because it was either you worked and saved or supported others or you never worked and didn’t care for others. According to the Good News Bible, it says “He welcomed them, spoke to them about the Kingdom of God and healed those who needed it.” Helping others doesn’t include bragging or wasting the time you have with others to do something else.…

The author of Ecclesiastes seems to be a depressed person. Someone might even say that he is a pessimist, but despite all the criticism on the author it seems he is just a realist about life. It is very easy to see that people would think the book of Ecclesiastes is depressing and the author is messed up. Verses like “And I declared that the dead, who have already died, are happier than the living, who are still here,” (Ecclesiastes 4:2) seems very strange and not what Yahweh would of wanted.…

Chapter 2 of the book of Philippians which continues the letter to the Church at Philippi and is Apostle Paul’s call for their unity in Christ and how it will come through humility. It opens with the Apostle Paul posing questions to the members of the church at Philippi. “If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,” (Philippians 2:1). In these questions, Apostle Paul reminded the Philippians of how they were recipients of the grace of God, but he also wanted them to realize that they needed to stay unified and continue until the end. Which means, in a nutshell, that they have to recognize that unity in the church cannot follow unless people are truly…

    Essay On Religion Selfish

Author Note Is religion selfish? If you are anything like me than your first thoughts about this question are something along the lines of confusion and maybe even shock at the audacity to suggest that it could be. A selfish religion seems a bit like an oxymoron at first, but as I considered this question I came to conclude that there is such a thing as a selfish religion. In fact, I believe that there are really only two religions at the end of the day – the religion of self, and the religion of God. Most religions in the world are centered on the selfishness of the individual; I want to be better, I want to be great, I want to make sure that no one is more deserving of heaven than I, etcetera.…

Chapter 3 of Doing the Truth in Love by Michael Himes revolves around the idea of restlessness. Himes introduces the chapter with St.Augustine’s discovery that “humans are fundamentally restless” (Himes 39). In my life, I have never really noticed it, but I am constantly restless. Whether it’s in school, my family, on the field, or in my relationship in God. I constantly check my grades and work hard to make sure my grades are how I want them to be.…
