Ephesians Chapter 6 Analysis

God has given us all the tools necessary for life and godliness as found in 2 Peter 1:3, “…as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.” Part of these “all things” is found in Ephesians chapter 6. The Roman armor was legendary during the height of the Roman conquest. Paul applies the use of this armor as a basis for the armor of God. After reading, a person would naturally assume he was talking about spiritual armor. That would be correct, but there is another aspect that gets little attention yet is extremely important to the well-being of a person. A person is a triune being having a spirit, a soul, and a body. The armor of God protects all …show more content…
Paul states in 2 Corinthians.2:10-1110 “Now whom you forgive anything, I also forgive. For if indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ, 11 lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.” Paul says that we are not ignorant. How not be ignorant is found in 2 Timothy.2:15, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Many times Paul writes that we should not be ignorant. “For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery …” (Romans 11:25). “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant” (1 Corinthians 12:1). “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope” (1 Thessalonians 4:13). Do you think Paul wants to make it very clear so that we are not ignorant of spiritual things? In the Old Testament, Hosea is stating the same thought, “My people perish for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). The devil is our number one enemy. We are a spirit “critter” so our battle is in the spirit

Paul’s Letter to the Galatians plays a pivotal role in shaping theological understanding as we know it. It has provoked us to rethink about our relationship with God, and to reconsider who really is this God we serve? In this case, Galatians holds such great reverence among Christians in answering these overarching questions, because of Paul’s skillful ability to challenge authority and condemn the Galatians for following under “the desires of the flesh,” rather than living by “the Spirit” (5.16). In order for us to understand the significance of Galatians and its role in shaping our interpretation of these questions, we must first cultivate a deeper understanding of the context behind Paul’s letter within the interest of the contemporary reader.…

However, there are sound reasons that affirm that Paul wrote Ephesians. First, the letter specifically claims to be Paul’s. Unless there is overwhelming contrary evidence, this should heavily weigh in on the debate. The early church, which rejected fake letters, unanimously accepted this letter as being written by Paul, and this was a city that had a reputation of having discernment regarding false apostolic claims (Rev. 2:2).…

The book of Hebrews chapter eleven has been described by many as the Bible’s ‘Hall of Faith’. The verse by verse description of both heroes and heroines of our faith fills the reader with both encouragement and admonishment. I like others I’m sure who have read these texts find it inspiring that those who believe in God and keep the faith overcome great adversity often times throughout some crazy challenges. Of course ancient people like Noah, Abraham and Moses are mentioned in this chapter. The obvious and miraculous encounters with God are legend.…

\Primary Source: In 1 Thessalonians 1-5 we learn that Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy write to the Thessalonians about being chosen by God and how they received God's message through the Holy Spirit. Paul then returns to Thessalonica to continue preaching the word of the Lord, because he felt that was the correct thing to do. Paul then sends Timothy to check up no the Thessalonians and he comes back with good news. He then tells them that they have learned a lot from him and that they should continue to live to please God, those who reject it not only reject their authority but God’s as well. He then tells them that the Lord will one day come like a thief in the night and will destroy all peace and security, but Paul doesn't say when this will…

The author of Ecclesiastes seems to be a depressed person. Someone might even say that he is a pessimist, but despite all the criticism on the author it seems he is just a realist about life. It is very easy to see that people would think the book of Ecclesiastes is depressing and the author is messed up. Verses like “And I declared that the dead, who have already died, are happier than the living, who are still here,” (Ecclesiastes 4:2) seems very strange and not what Yahweh would of wanted.…

The book of James it’s more than likely written by James the half-brother of Jesus, due to the time period that is believed the book of James was written. It is believed that book of James was written in the early 60’s A.D., which would make this James the half-brother Jesus, rather than the brother of John (sons of Zebedee). “Since the Brother of John was martyred very early, around 44 A.D. (Act 12:2), he is ruled.” At first, James, known as “The Just”, was a skeptic of Jesus, but he later became the leading pastor or overseer, the Jerusalem church. Being a stick Jew, he supported Paul’s work to the gentiles, but James focused more of his work on the Jews.…

Paul in his opening of argument whether to eat or abstain to eat the food that sacrificed to Idols, compares knowledge and love as the basis of Christian characteristics. He did not deny that Corinthian believers had knowledge concerning the differences between eating food that sacrificed to idols and worshiping idols as well as their having knowledge about the nonentity of the idols. He also indicates that they have freedom either to eat or to abstain from eating the food which is sacrificed to idol. However, the understanding of believers is different from one another and he indicates that their knowledge is limited and love is greater than that knowledge.…

In this assignment I will discuss the theological construction of Ecclesiastes 3 with focus on verses 1 to 15 which is on the topic of time. I have not included verse 16 to 22 here as from verse 16 onward Qohelet introduces his new topic on judgement in a typical manner by using “I saw something” signaling another reflection. Although he mentions in v. 17 “a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed”, I do not see any significant connection of these verses with verses 1 to 15.…

Spiritual Gifts and Unity in Christ from 1st Corinthians 12: 1-31 Paul’s words in his letter to the Corinthian church, lays an emphasis on the virtue and need for unity within these community of believers as it relates to the diverse operations of spiritual gifts (I Corinthians 12:1-31). This is because spiritual gifts and unity are interconnected and vital to their church experience and Christian life. According to him, our effectiveness as the church of Jesus Christ lies in our willingness to work together even as we recognise the different abilities bestowed on us by the Holy Spirit. In this section of the letter the apostle advocates for a more communal spirituality than an individualistic approach to living out one’s faith experience. He reiterates the fact that the Corinthians church was one body possessing different members (1 Corinthians 12: 20-27).…
