However, in our case, the patient did not have history of food allergy. A possible mechanism by which food hypersensitivity-related EG may cause acute pancreatitis is due to obstruction of the pancreatic duct from local duodenal inflammation[12]. Review of the literature shows that CT findings are variable, ranging from relatively normal[13] to showing evidence of common bile duct dilatation[14]. In our case, the CT scan of abdomen revealed normal pancreas even though biochemical markers like serum amylase and lipase were significantly higher.
