Eoplatonic Humanism In Shakespeare's Play

eoplatonic humanism is when a person blife that by studying he too will be with god. In the time of William Shakespeare, many noble people believed that by studying with the pope they would be enlightened and be one with god. Shakespeare's look at many famous people and uses their history to reenact on to his play, as an example for neoplatonic, a man name Martin Luther, who simply devoted his time to studying the art of bible. As for the play, the main characters were willing to devote there three years of study with the pope to be with god. The play and Martin Luther are very similar, by studying in hope of being with god, sacrificing their love life in hope of enlightenment. It tells us a lot about their expectation and belief.
