By understanding what an enzyme is one can proceed to test and acquire the supporting sources. Enzymes are identified as protein catalysts, which functions to speed up chemical reactions, and depends on the environment with reaction is occurring. It is understood that any change configuration of an enzyme will stir the catalytic activity of the enzyme. Factors such as pH and temperature have an ability to greatly influence such activities, which often result in enzymatic …show more content…
In preparing the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), a potato was diced and shredded, placed on individual weigh boats, then measured on a balance to obtain 1.0 g for comparison. 100 mL of H2O2 was poured into a beaker, however 1 mL of the solution was added to both diced and shredded potato. This procedure was applied to following remaining agents; an apple and banana. Results were drafted, as the experiment implied the use of vinegar and ammonia. These two solutions were also poured into separate beakers and measured at 1 mL each, further, where applied to the opposing parties of both the diced and shredded potato, banana and apple. Only, those of a visible chemical reaction were removed from a room temperature of 22 °C into an environment of 40°C at 5 minutes for advance the chemical response. A hot bath offers a controlled temperature, thus increasing the rate of the occurring
