Enzyme Intake For Athletes

Enzyme intake is very important for athletes, especially for those are more active than others. The first example of an enzyme that can be supplemented for athletes is amylase. Salivary glands in your mouth make amylase, which begins the digestive process by breaking down starch when you chew your food, amylase also assists in the break down carbohydrates. When athletes supplement it, it’s important for them to have the correct amount of amylase. If the amount becomes too high, they can risk infection. If the amount is too low, the athlete could develope diseases. Another enzyme that is beneficial to athletes is hemicellulase. Hemicellulase is a group of enzymes that break down hemicellulose, which contain many sugar monomers. This can be supplemented
