It is well known that all organisms require at least some water to survive, even the most hardy creature on the planet earth, the tardigrade, Hypsibius dujardini, which can survive near complete dehydration, exposure to extreme radiation, vacuum, temperature and pressure, must be rejuvenated with water if it is to resume life after near complete desiccation (Gabriel, et al. 2007). H. dujardini, famous for surviving some of the harshest conditions of any organism we know of, is a perfect example of what we consider an extreme environment, that is, any environment considered to be extreme is one in which water cannot be easily accessed, for example in both extreme hot and extreme cold, water is difficult to access, either because it has vaporized, or because it is trapped in its solid form. Another form of a water starved environment is environments with high salinity, such as the environments where you would find Haloarcula marismortui, an extreme halophilic archaea from…

He does not predefine variables (Myers, 2013) to explain the Star Trek phenomena, but uses social activities, costs, facts, images, meanings and differences (Kuznets, 2001) to make sense of the Star Trek craze. The article incorporates, embeds and uses theory as a strong fundamental basis. Kuznets’ (2001) not only describes and depicts a summary model for consumer research theory but injects theory, such as articulation, decoding, contextual sensitive, grounded, and critical theory (Kuznets, 2001) to build, substantiate and generalizes findings and…

Environmental Scan Rogers, like all other companies, is subject to the five environmental forces that influence marketing campaigns greatly. These five environmental forces include social forces, economic forces, regulatory forces, technological forces and competitive forces. Understanding that their target market is broad, as their mobile services appealed to the masses, Rogers reacted to the social force by implementing various categorized plans in order to organize each into its own targeted group. The purpose of the move was to create different groups which catered specifically to their diversified client base, some examples of these newly created plans include Family, Couple, Pay As You Go, Value Pack, etc. These plans would then go on to be marketed directly to those thought to be interested in them; sending a ‘business plan’ promotion letter to a local business is an example of the application of this change.…
