By doing this, it increases the competition on a global scale as everyone is trying to find faster, cleaner, more productive ways of making automobiles. With the advancements in technology such as cell phones, T.V.s, global positioning devices, and wireless connections, the automotive industry has been given a wide range of options to add to vehicles. Today’s automobiles have interactive systems that can give you directions to where you need to go, make “hands-free” phone calls, play music, and so many other things wirelessly. Technology has also been a big player in vehicle safety. Our cars can now tell us when there is an object in our “blind-spot,” help us parallel-park, and warn us when an object is too close to our vehicle. This helps prevent accidents and keeps our safety at a priority. I find it amazing how I can drive from one state to another without the use of an old-fashioned paper map. I can sync my cell phone to my car and not only make calls without ever picking up my cell but listen to music, send emails, and search the web for nearby hotels and restaurants. Technology doesn’t just make the product better, but producing the automobile has become easier, faster, and safer. However, I believe the majority of Americans are all for any kind of automobiles. Vehicles have become our main way of transportation besides aircrafts. Automobile covers, personal cars, mopeds, taxis, buses, trains, motorcycles, and subways. Some people still choose to utilize a more “cleaner” way of transportation such as bicycles, walking, running, and other non-motorized or electric transportation devices. The car isn’t going anywhere. It will continue to evolve into a cleaner, safer, more high-tech way of transportation. I feel that the reasoning behind these changes is due to consumer demand and opinions.
