In brain and cognitive development related critical thinking and learning process, researchers found it started from early years learning (Berk, 2003; Nutbrown, 2006). Also, children’s environmental attitude started during that time, because childhood is most important and perceptive and sensitive period for the learning and value, skill, behavior shaping (Samuelsson & Kaga, 2008). They discussed the reliability, interviews were audio-taped and translated to researchers and data collection procedure was completed over 3-month from November 2009 to January 2010. Besides, picture was prepared for each item in order to help preschool children more easily understand the questionnaire items as well. For the validity, they use the concurrent method and sub-question way to ensure answers were validity. The interviewee were asked to identify which picture they most like. Then according to the child’s answer, they were asked the sub-questions to elicit the reason for their choice. The procedures were clearly described and data also been coded by researcher. The data analyzed by Creswell (2007) in two independent coders and send to the environmental educator and early childhood expert.
Limitations
The authors discussed limitations of the study. The primary limitation of the study was regards preschools age; they are not capable to thinking the environmental attitude perspective like adult. In Addition, the data sample were collected in the same area, for the environmental programs’ angle, they should provide children with a variety of educational experiences and the students’ positive attitude were influenced by their living environmental and exploration experience for sure.
