I Introduction

The environmental movement has been underway for some time now with the intent on protecting the environment. Through this movement there has been many different agencies formed in the United States Federal Government to help protect the environment. The values and missions of these agencies are not what they seem and do not protect the environment as one should think they would. They strive more to meet the needs human needs than those of the environment.

Fish and Wildlife service mission is to conserve, protect, and enhance the habitats of fish, plants, and wildlife to benefit the American people. The priorities of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is to achieving recovery and preventing extinction of endangered and threatened species, conserving natural resources, and connecting with people to provide future conservation. Due to the fact that nature and humans are linked in multiple ways the USFWS provides a place that people can have the opportunity to have fun and appreciate nature at the same time while still contributing millions of dollars to local economies. One of the major reasons for decline in wildlife, fish, and plant species in the world is the loss of their habitat. The NOAA also conserves and manages coastal and marine ecosystems and their resources. The key focuses of the NOAA is to provide up to date information on weather in order to save lives and livelihoods, help predict climate changes and variability, provide conservation and management of fisheries, marine mammals, endangered species, and habitats, and providing marine sanctuaries for fish and marine mammals.
