Energy use being the number one contributor to global warming, about 50% of energy is used in buildings, indicating that buildings have a considerable potential for operational energy savings.
Climate responsive design provides a comfortable indoor environment in response to the seasonal variations of climate, the direction of the sun, natural shade provided by surrounding topography, environmental factors such as wind, rain fall, humidity, and climate data to design comfortable and energy efficient structures that use little to no-energy.
