An issue is the quality of the product; consumers believe that eco friendly products are not as effective. Not many consumers will go out of their way to buy eco friendly products therefore ecofriendly products will have to be more known and available to consumers. People are not going to pay more for ecofriendly products unless there is substantial value therefore the ecofriendly products must be displayed a durable and be appealing to consumers. The products must be 100% ecofriendly otherwise hypocrisy becomes an issue. Also knowledge must become a factor, people must understand what has truly happened to the environment, not may people care to learn resource management. An example about education is the Leonardo DiCaprio speech when he received his Grammy. He said the making of his movie “The Revenant” could not be filmed in Calgary because of the weather due to climate change, when all it was, was a chinook. I think once these factors can combine and develop and eco friendly product the market could have huge potential but until then no, I think everything will stay at convenience.
