This curiosity ultimately led to Nazario creating her book, “Enrique's Journey”, in which she uses several rhetorical devices, appeal to ethics and appeal to logic, to chronicle the experiences of a young Honduran boy’s journey to find his distant mother living in the United States and to highlight the issue of child immigration in the U.S. Nazario uses appeal to ethics when she…

The passage that I pulled from the book as the most important and meaningful is a short dialogue between Enrique and his mom. At this point in the book Enrique has just crossed the border into America and the smugglers that got him there called his mom and said that they need more money.…

Additionally, this movie is a great representation of the struggle challenged by many people from Central and South America who are trying to get inside the United States. The primary reason behind Enrique and Rosa going to the Unified States is that they can no longer stay alive in their town; they must choose between limited options other than leaving in Guatemala. Their father Arturo is a simple worker who picks coffee for a living, and their mom is a servant.…

Throughout Enrique’s Journey, Sonia Nazario employs the use of many different stories from people who have played a part in Enrique’s journey to the United States, or in the migrant journey as a whole. Many stories or backgrounds derive from people making the journey themselves, or some who may have helped the migrants in small of big ways. However, Nazario chooses to incorporate the backstories of people along the way, who may not be as eager, or be wary about the migrants and their situation, as well as migrants who may not have pure intentions for going on this journey. Incorporating these different viewpoints, depicts the complexity of the situation, the many layers hidden underneath, and displays how this migrant situation from Central…
