The United States has a wealthy economy with the GDP per capita being $54,600 which places the US 19th in the world compared to other countries economy. The US also has a decent government and a great military. Although the United States has such wonderful things going for them, they still have an immense problem; Immigration. Immigration has enveloped the US where over one million people come into America legally each year, while numerous come into America by illegally crossing the border. Marco Rubio, a junior United States Senator from the state of Florida released a statement about immigration in an interview with Fox News, “A million people a year come into the U.S. legally. No other country even comes close to that figure.”(5.) Marco also states with the interviewer that he is only talking about the million who come into America and get full citizenship, and rights, not the people admitted on a temporary basis. What Marco Rubio left out is why they want to come to the US so badly rather than other countries. What has been found is that the immigrants want a better life and want the “American Way” (3.) of life. The “American Way” of life is freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of police and judicial corruption, education, and liberty. They face deportation which in most cases is saying goodbye to your freedom and life. Without America immigrants feel they will fail and won’t be happy because their home has dangerous matters, and feel that going back to their country will out them in immense danger with old associates. I.e. Enrique felt that going back to Honduras will put him in great danger because people would think he was t good and that’s why he left him home.
