The result of the English Civil War was quite satisfying since they follow in my beliefs. England’s government was changed into a parliament where it ruled as a true republic. Most people had equal rights and there was no one person with most of the power. However, the parliament soon became corrupt and the government changed back into a monarchy. With the Glorious Revolution, however, power was given to Mary II and she became queen. Although I don’t support the monarchy, having another woman in power was a nice change. The perfect society would have equal rights for everyone, including education rights for women, and the people’s ability to choose what they believe in. People shouldn’t be pressured to choose one religion over the others if they don’t believe in it. With many of the rulers before, people were given more rights if they were Catholic or not, depending on the ruler during the time. This shouldn’t be an issue if everyone were truly equal. People would be able to choose what they believe in without repercussions and judgements. Furthermore, if people do not agree with the existing government, they should be able to voice their opinions and suggest a better and more effective government. Having a government that gives everyone equal rights will benefit everyone. Unlike the parliament and monarchy that the English Civil War and Glorious Revolution brought, this type of government will not succumb to corruption since everyone is equal. Because everyone is educated, people will be more independent and learn to think for themselves instead of relying on others.
