Throughout this semester in English 2010, our class has focused on various rhetorical concepts and techniques used by others and discussed and learned how to use them on our own behalf. Especially, how to identify and even seek out situations that either require a rhetorical response or ones that make a response possible even if is ultimately unwanted. Furthermore, learning how to employ language in a strategical plan in order to effect change, whether it be a societal change or simply altering the way a particular audience regards a situation. Additionally, gaining understanding in the contextual meaning and usage of particular language, allows me to use the appropriate rhetoric for a given situation and to be a more pertinent orator.
