It was sometimes hard to think of the right topics that I was able to write 5-6 pages about. I did research and made lists of things that I was going to be able to elaborate on and overall create a decent paper. On the definition essay, I should have chosen a better topic other then, “Dreams.” Of course we all know about dreams, but it was hard to define it, when it could mean two different things. I ended up writing about both of the meanings, which didn’t end up so well. For the cause and effect essay, I chose the topic I did because I knew a lot about it and could elaborate the topic well to create a 5-6 page essay.
Through all of the essays I wrote this semester, I learned a lot of new writing techniques and strategies that will help me when I attend college next fall. Although I gained much knowledge over the past few months I did struggle with a few things such as formulating a written thesis statement expressing my main point in the composition, producing rough drafts preliminary to the final draft, applying transition strategies to organize the entire composition cohesively and coherently, and overall practicing various prewriting strategies, such as thinking, brainstorming, listing, and
