For instance I learned to use descriptive details in my writings to get my point across. I learned to find central idea and supporting examples to focus on when writing an essay.
In addition, in the beginning of the course I was more worried about the number of pages I have to complete rather than the focusing on the topic of the paper. Now, I have learned to overcome it. My professor tells me all the time just take a moment and think. Think about your topic only, get enough ideas, write about it, and if you’re out of ideas take time off go out enjoy yourself come back and get more ideas, than write all about it once more. The essay was based off my point of view and I thought it wasn’t going to be so hard after all it wa all about my experience. Sadly, I was wrong because I did not know how to start my paper nor how I was going to transition and indentations between each paragraph. Nevertheless, I remembered the tips and skill applied in the essay. It turned out to be an excellent essay because between each paragraph the transition and indentation was well written and I responded to the assignment properly with the help of my professor. It had the highest grade with the least corrections. Having a high percentage for that essay made me realize that the writing course was not as bad as I had thought. Writing the essay showed that I had improved with grammar and sentence structure. Compared to my other essays that I have written, that were marked with many lines or things to be corrected I still had a good grade it just wasn’t the best. However on this essay there were only minor problems like grammar and comma splices. Although I can not say that I fully understand all of the materials that I was taught, but I can say I feel more confident in my writing. I learned from reading through the CULTURE book assigned for the
