Both in education and real life lessons that I will carry with me for eternity. In particular my English Composition class as well as my Intro to College Writing I learned an abounding amount of things that have shaped how I write and shaped the way I think about things. In my English classes I grew as a student and writer through the three units we did, music, movies and games. In the music unit I learned an abundance of things. The one thing that has seemed to stay the same is the love that people have for movies including myself. What I didn't really think about too intensely was the meaning behind the movie and what the producer wanted the viewer to take out of it. In English Composition as well as Intro to College Writing we were really asked to dig deep and think about that. Having to watch Ted talks and having to do activities really helped when it came to writing the essay. The whole time when I was prepping and working on my rough draft I was thinking about what the producer was trying to get across as well as the significance of movies in society. Again like in the music unit we took a day to work of the APA format for referencing as well as making sure our in text citations were right. I feel especially lucky for the conferences we had to do in Intro to College Writing class because I was a partly confused on the in text citations and I was able to get the help I so tremendously

Though this class is meant to make Taylor a more effective writer it seems as if this class and the class before are just the same high school english classes with more pressure added because of the level. Though Taylor knows he needs the class in order to make advances in life due to his choices for a career. Still at this point in time Taylor does not see the full necessity within the class.…

English Composition I taught me a lot about myself, including how to be a better college student, through the process of writing. At the beginning of the year, I was not very excited about having to write argumentative papers. This is because I did not care enough about the assigned topics to have an opinion. But, I did learn a lot that I would not have known otherwise from having to research information about the topics I chose to write about. For example, in paper #2, I wrote about the niqab and how I believe that it is oppressive to women.…
