Those who have disabilities, different cultures, or anything that makes them different do not have deficits, instead they have different and new ideas to bring to the table. Whenever I saw any of these types of students get picked on by others, I always wanted to intervene, but I did not have the strength or will power to do so. I regret those decisions, however, I never let it affect my learning. On my overall education though, these incidents where students did get bullied, it made me want to learn more about what I could do to help. I wanted to learn more about how to keep these incidents from happening, and to make sure that I would not accidentally make any assumptions about these people either. My interest in becoming a teacher grew over time. A combination of little instances in my life all got built up until it created a foundation within me where I realized that I wanted to become a teacher. Between all the connections that I created with my teachers and all the different ways that people grew around me, I knew that I too wanted to be a teacher. I remember back in elementary school the teacher would call on the kids who were not paying attention and ask them, “do you want to teach the class?” In that moment, I wanted to be those kids because I did want to teach the class. Over time, with all the group projects and presentations where you had to present to class, I slowly came to realize that I wanted to continue doing activities like that.
