I feel I have grown a lot as a learner in this English class. I was not only taught curriculum, but I also gained insight on how I learn and which ways work best for me. I definitely improved on grammar and vocab and I now have a grasp for basic English mechanics. If you think you can get it done in 30 minutes it is going to be 45 minutes to an hour. Also, do not wait until the last minute to get things done, it will not help in the long run. Additionally, if you need help do not sit there and act like it is magically going to come for you. Talk to your teacher, go the ERC, ask your parents or others students or use online resources. Not understanding what is going on is going to set you back majorly and you need to get help as soon as possible. Lastly, participate in class discussion. Participating helps you stay engaged with the class and you will probably hear some useful information for an upcoming quiz or test. Spacing out or disengaging with the class just puts you in a bad position. Overall, just expect a bigger workload and put forth effort into maintaining a good grade in the class. This class is the first step in becoming a better writer and learner of the English
