Throughout English Honors 9 I learned many subjects I did not think I would learn for quite a long time. Some of these things I did particularly well on, and some not so much. During Semester 2 I thought I generally did well on most vocab tests and grammar tests. Some needed improvement but nothing was too extreme. I thought I did very well on the Social Awareness Project, receiving a 100 percent. My essays for both Romeo and Juliet and To Kill A Mockingbird could use some definite improvement as well as some of my other writing.
I feel I have grown a lot as a learner in this English class. I was not only taught curriculum, but I also gained insight on how I learn and which ways work best for me. I definitely improved on grammar and vocab and I now have a grasp for basic English mechanics. At the beginning of the year I would not have known a quarter of the things we learned this year and I feel much more

If you think you can get it done in 30 minutes it is going to be 45 minutes to an hour. Also, do not wait until the last minute to get things done, it will not help in the long run. Additionally, if you need help do not sit there and act like it is magically going to come for you. Talk to your teacher, go the ERC, ask your parents or others students or use online resources. Not understanding what is going on is going to set you back majorly and you need to get help as soon as possible. Lastly, participate in class discussion. Participating helps you stay engaged with the class and you will probably hear some useful information for an upcoming quiz or test. Spacing out or disengaging with the class just puts you in a bad position. Overall, just expect a bigger workload and put forth effort into maintaining a good grade in the class. This class is the first step in becoming a better writer and learner of the English

Surviving English Comp 1 Writing Class Writing is one thing I hate the most. It was hard to write an essay for the first time because I did not have the knowledge or concept of this writing style. Before this class, I thought I knew what writing was all about by expressing my thoughts, ideas and feeling. I know now that I had the wrong concept on how to write. I can express my thoughts, ideas and feeling, but if I put them in the wrong contents it does not lead the reader to the point of the essay.…

I truly enjoyed having your English 070 class. I have experienced throughout this course difficulties, challenges, and most importantly the feeling of accomplishment after completing any assignment. During my high school time in Mexico, I really did not have the opportunity to write an assignment like how I did in this class, and what I found is that even when I got frustrated at some point, I really enjoyed writing them. I really was nervous at the beginning of the semester and I assumed that the work was going to be beyond hard.…

It feels like so long ago when I first began this English course. I can remember being so excited about the class topic, racism and social justice, which I felt that I had a lot of passion for. Little did I know that I would have to gather up even more enthusiasm and passion to be able to continue writing papers about the same topic all semester long. This course has tested my endurance, and at many times my patience, and for that I am thankful because I know in the end, it has made me a better writer. Despite various minor challenges this semester I believe that I have put in the hard work that it takes and I have achieved the course goals and will complete this class feeling fulfilled and accomplished.…

This English class has been very helpful in my efforts to improve my writing abilities, but has also been very challenging due to there being a different median for every essay. It’s been a heavy work load especially this semester since I decided to enroll in five classes, but in the end it has been very beneficial indeed. I can’t say that writing essays has been one of my strong points but I believe that this course has helped me improve tremendously and it has also made me feel a lot more comfortable with my writing. While in high school I would usually write all of my essays a day before the due date a habit of mine that was very difficult to overcome, but now I have learned from my mistakes.…
