How To Write A Reflection For English Class

Improved Essays
This semester of English has been extremely frustrating. I’ve never had to reevaluate something and create a new plan as often as I have in these past 7 weeks. I’m sad this class is only 7 weeks; because there is still improvement our team can do to make this project phenomenal. We are limited because of time. The first week when we were first talking about how this class was going to run, I got excited. I created my long list of passions, and took notes on who else have similar topics that could create a well-rounded argument. I looked for others who could bring new connections and ideas to the group. I started out with a different group completely, but I learned that business isn’t a passion and I personally couldn’t bring to the table any new information or connections. My purpose in that group would be mute, and I wouldn’t be …show more content…
We decided to appeal to our audience by finding what they want students to achieve and how our topics can help the students achieve the learning outcomes.
Research: Researched the 4 C’s of learning. I also set up and attended an interview with the Logan School District school board chair. I’m grateful for the interview because we learned and understood our audience.
Planning: After the interview we became nervous because our audience was already making the changes we were suggesting. We didn’t have anyone to persuade anymore. Luckily we got to class and were talking about the reinvented Logan High. Monica proceeded to tell us that she attended there and told us it was a waste of time and money. She helped us find out new audience. Students. We need to create a video for students that persuaded them to make personal changes to become learners while the system as a whole is changing.
Product: I’m currently building our final product. It is a video directed to students that will be posted on

During this summer session of ENGL101A, I have learned multiple ways to express myself through my writing. In fact, before signing up for this class, I did not know the proper way to compose an academic essay for a particular audience, and how to properly cite my sources. Nevertheless, after the short summer session, I am able to define my purpose and audience, analyze critically any piece of information, and write with proper citations and fewer grammatical errors with confidence. Through the short time of 5 weeks, I learned how to focus on my audience as well as how to define the purpose of my papers as academically as possible.…

Governor’s School Last summer, I attended governor's school west where three hundred and twenty-five bright and open-minded students from all across North Carolina gathered for five and a half weeks in a college campus setting. To me, this was a big milestone in life that changed me for the better. We left our cozy lives of families and friends to start with a clean slate with strangers we’ve never seen in our lives. At first, we thought of it as a sacrifice of our summer to glamorize our college application, but throughout the program we experienced things that exceeded beyond our expectations.…

A new journey in my life began on August 13th, 2014 as my school principal cut the red ribbon celebrating the opening of a brand new high school. Little did I know, it would become a journey of growth and unique experiences unlike any before it, further refining and adding to my inner sculpture of identity and talent. I was going to Liberty High School, therefore it was necessary that I adapt--quickly, yet strategically. Throughout my life, I had never imagined that my high school experience would reach and exceed my expectations in the way that it did. I had the unique opportunity most people don’t get in life: to be part of a grassroots movement in establishing a culture that would enrich future students with tradition and values for many years to come.…

Helping Hand Ken Bain’s book was a very interesting book. Before going to college, I didn’t know what to expect from college, but reading this book has to help me in ways that showed me what to expect from college. This book showed me how to focus on my grades, how to follow my curiosity, how to become a “deep learner”. I did enjoy Bain’s advice on how we should enjoy college and get an experience. Doing this project with my classmates is an educational journey for us because we can all learn from what we do for the community.…

Throughout the semester of English Composition I, I learned any new things. Over the past few months I have learned many new tips on how to create a good paper. Although I gained much knowledge over the past few months I did struggle with a few things such as formulating a written thesis statement expressing my main point in the composition, producing rough drafts preliminary to the final draft, applying transition strategies to organize the entire composition cohesively and coherently, and overall practicing various prewriting strategies, such as thinking, brainstorming, listing, and freewriting.…

After finishing the English 101 course I feel like I have accomplished many of the goals that I was challenged with the beginning of the course, such as critically thinking and reading with text from the textbook “Dialogues” by Gary Goshgarian, substantively replying to my peers to understand their point of views from the text and to get a better understanding of a rhetorical argument. Thinking and reading critically were very important this whole course. Thinking and reading critically were something you would have to do in every assignment that was given. Incorporating it in every assignment has helped us greatly improve week by week and betters our understanding of each topic and the assignments main idea.…
