Despite their rather grumpy and slightly fierce appearance, Bulldogs are one of the gentlest dog breeds in the world. But don't let that fool you, Bulldogs are also the most common dog breed in the world to get sick or die fast if not taken care of. They can easily get overheated and they have a lot of health issues. As with other short nosed breeds, it is necessary to keep a observant eye on your Bulldog in hot weather. Keep them in a air conditioned house with clean, refreshing water. Lots of eye complications occur in English Bulldogs. Such as cherry eye, dye eye, eyelash abnormalities. Tumors and cancers are very common in Bulldogs. These complications happens during the ages of one through two. The most serious problem with English Bulldogs …show more content…
English Bulldogs are omnivores and requires lots of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and vitamins. They are also prolific chewers so a few dog toys are acceptable for around the house. That should protect your furniture from being devoured. They can also be a little possessive over their food so keep them away from toddlers and other small-scale animals. The English Bulldog is a lovable and attractive breed, but it is also very sensitive to environmental factors and requires a cool, relatively calm environment for the good of its health. They can easily get chilled so providing lots of blankets is a great idea to prevent your English Bulldog from freezing. Bulldogs can get tired easily and do not require lots of activity. So a small apartment is a very comfortable climate for them. You should keep sharp objects and food out of reach from them. Bulldogs are actually a mix between Mastiff and Pug, once you look at them, you can see the resemblance. Their short snout and large head comes from the Pug side of them. Their stocky body form and strong jaw comes from their Mastiff side.
