For example, on the introduction of my first essay “living on a Minimum Wage” I wrote, “Before moving to the United States, I was so impressed with the western lifestyle that I started watching American movies and music video clips. I started dreaming about being in the United States one day, so I could finish my education and go back to my country Chad to start a good life and be around my family and friends. However, I did not anticipate what I had to do financially to survive in the United States”(1). Not only this introduction is too short but is also brief. As soon I started working on the paper, my mind was raising to the body paragraph where I put most of my effort and focus instead of providing more information on the introduction. But after getting a feedback from the professor, I promise to myself to always proportion the time that I spend on writing and improve the number of words to be at least 200 or more as it was mentioned in the book and also by Mr. Christopher Jone my English professor. I often finish with the essay as soon as I am done typing it, or sometimes I maybe just read the paper once and submitted it. For instance, on my second paper “Marketing Strategies” I wrote about The Mall of America and American consumerism. I mentioned, “In today 's lifestyle many people are obsessed with materials things and spending. To gets spenders or materialist people to the mall, businesses usually choose to distinguish their business from others and get those consumers in....”(2). Looking back to this sentence I think I could do better if I just put some time and effort proofreading it. However after this essay, I started proofreading my essays before submitting it or show it to anybody. Proofreading helped me a lot capturing my grammatical and punctuation mistakes. Before proofreading, I just type any idea that comes to mind and after just go back read it again and again to fix the error that I catch.
