Overall, English 201 has been a great experience and I have taken away a significant amount of knowledge from this class. What helped me experience success was working ahead in this class. I am glad that I know for my own self that I work better with online English classes. Since it was an online course, I could work at my own pace and research material more easily as I wrote my paper. To help me meet my goals, I would make note of future due dates for the following week. After analyzing all the due dates and the estimated time I thought it would take to complete them, I would schedule out when I was going to take on each assignment to get it in on time. I always made sure that if I had a question, I would instantly ask my professor. I used to think that there were “dumb” …show more content…
I attended the writing lab for every essay like I promised myself to do in the beginning of the quarter. I would attend the writing lab as the deadline for my paper approached. Occasionally, I would procrastinate on the due date for my rough drafts, but I never turned in any assignments late. To get the grade that I desired, I used the peer reviews to their full potential and took notes when I attended the writing lab. I would always read my essays aloud to catch errors and I used multiple online grammar checkers to catch errors. In the beginning of the quarter, I discussed that in my journal entry that one of my goals for the quarter would be to brainstorm more before an essay because I usually get stressed when I first begin the assignment. This was an obstacle for me because I am not used to this step in my writing process. I wish I would have stuck to this goal, however, I always ended going back to my original way of writing.
