When it comes to write your ideas in paper, you might be struggled; especially if the language in which you are writing is a second language. In my case this class, English 111 taught by Dr.Ellen McKenzie, was one of my challenging class I have never seen in College, and I was wandering if I could overcome it. But, my determination reinforced by my teacher’s teaching method have made more successful in this class. I was surprised by how much I actually learned and also how much I developed the writing skills in the different papers I have written during this semester. Those papers includes four pieces of writing and this reflective essay. The first assignment of the semester was a literacy narrative. The literacy narrative was a particularly difficult assignment for me. In all my past experience with writing, I have never really been asked to write a personal narrative essay in English.
This assignment was difficult at first time because English is my second language .Also the learning strategy was strange for me .The issue was what to write , how to write a narrative and how to write faster by using a computer. I tried reading the samples we were given and that helped, but what made it possible for me to write the narrative was going through the writing process step by step. I sat down and eventually came up with an idea centered on a “literary” memory/experience.
