I chose Maya Angelou poem “Still I rise”. I chose that poem, because I felt like that poem was a message not just for me but for anyone who felt like giving up because others said they weren’t good enough. Maya Angelou poem had rhyme scheme and figure of speech for example, she used simile “Just like moons and like suns just like hopes springing high” She compared her self to the moon and the suns light. The movie Othello started off a bit boring and I didn’t get the point of the movie, but by me reading a summary off the movie I begin to understand. When we watched the last hour of the movie it became more interesting and understandable. Othello was a general who married the women of his dream but let the lies of other determine his future. Othello was considered a tragic hero. Othello realized his faults at the end of the movie but by then it was too late. Writing this essay, I used more of outside source then the movie for example I read notes from cliff notes and enotes to help put my paper together. We were not able to get opinions from our classmates on how to make this essay better. I had to use what I learned from previous classes and what Dr. Criswell and my classmates taught
