When I start my English 091 class, I had no idea of how to start a assay or how I could add some facts from any journal or other kind of information. Before this class I could say that I consider myself a terrible writer, I did not had a perfect grammar and neither a smooth writing. In many cases my writing did not make sense. Many times I just used to write whatever I had on my mind, sometimes I didn’t even plan before my final draft, I did not was organized .
I have seen many improving things on my writing. When I took English 091, I learn how to write appropriately. I now write my essays not perfectly but is a little better than how it was before. On my English 091, professor St. Michel, teach us how to look for the purposes, the audience and the context of any article. The important things that we learn on English are purpose, audience and genre, all these is important to have them in mind, why? Because before you write any paper you need to see if is an essay, letter, or research paper; when you know what is the purpose, audience and genre, you would have the capacity to know what is going to be the content, structure, style and the document design of the paper that you would start writing.
I learn many techniques that would help me more on the rhetorical knowledge, for example, I like to read the article that i'm going to use for my essay, I need to annotate the article because that is the best way to identify to whom and how to write an essay. Now I know that the first thing to do before writing an essay is to annotate the article so I could choose what is going to be my position and I would know what structure, style and my document design would look like. It was helpful all the handouts that Dr. St. Michel give us, it help me to organize my essay and it show me what format the essay needs to
