Tulen Aidar (atulen2), ENGL 160 (38997)

With completing the first few weeks in the ENGL 160 class, I was able to benefit from a variety of new things from the class. My expectation about this class was that during the whole semester we will study grammar and structure of academic essays, as well as writing a large number of essays inside the class. However, I was pleasantly surprised, because we began to read interesting article and discuss it and in the end write summary about it.

The most challenging for me was the amount of homework. For example, on Friday we have to pass 3 summaries, at the same time I have to submit HIST 199 essay, also be prepared for ECON 120 quiz and the toughest day for me is Wednesday and Thursday when I sometimes

During this summer session of ENGL101A, I have learned multiple ways to express myself through my writing. In fact, before signing up for this class, I did not know the proper way to compose an academic essay for a particular audience, and how to properly cite my sources. Nevertheless, after the short summer session, I am able to define my purpose and audience, analyze critically any piece of information, and write with proper citations and fewer grammatical errors with confidence. Through the short time of 5 weeks, I learned how to focus on my audience as well as how to define the purpose of my papers as academically as possible.…

English 1105 has been an important learning experience for me and my writing processes. After a response paper, discussion boards, and formal essays, my writing style and process has changed drastically from how it was prior to this class. Each assignment that was required has shaped me as a writer. The response paper helped me to analyze the content of an argumentative work and put into words how I felt about each aspect. Although not time consuming assignments, the discussion boards have provided opportunities to discuss issues with classmates openly and argumentatively.…

In my opinion my best article would be the music review about Kevin Gates. I personally think this is my best article because I have a lot of good information, and used proper punctuation and grammar. My second best article would be my recipe for chocolate pound cake because it is described in detail and was fun to create. My worst struggle was keeping up with deadlines because I kept forgetting when it was due and would turn my project or work in late. Current events were probably the thing i forgot about the most because we never really talked about it so at the end of the week I would forget to do it.…

Self-Evaluation Essay Little did I know that I was going to learn a lot more than I thought throughout the semester in ENGL 1433. I began the course dreading reading and writing. My Junior year of high school was my challenging year, the reason to that is because we had to study for our Act also we had our grad MCAs to take. I must say it was really difficult knowing that we had those two big major tests in the same week. The amount of studying was ridiculous but in my head for a whole two months I was reminding myself that it will benefit me in the future that I need this to graduate. One part I didn 't have to worry was a portion of the MCA like the Algebra part. But the part that was extremely hard for me was geometry.…
