In this era of technology, I feel a sense of pride in being so closely associated with the field of Electrical and Electronics. Right from my school days I was inevitably enthralled by the functions of electrical and electronics equipment. By the time I was preparing for my 12th board practical examination I had quite figured out what I wanted to be or which one I would choose for something that would make me quite curious and also amaze me to a great extent that I wanted to learn more. Engineering was my choice and electrical in particular. The reason behind me choosing this was because of the time I had spent in my school physics laboratory. The worthwhile time that I spent in the lab working with the instruments made me passionate towards …show more content…
In particular, power generation always fascinated me. For the past certain years my country was experiencing some serious issues in power generation sector and one of the main reasons was that 60% of power generated were consumed by street lights which were switched on even when they were not needed. This made me want to contribute something to my nation that would solve this problem. So I developed an article smart intelligent street light, this enables the street lights to adjust automatically based on real time traffic conditions and changes according to naturalistic condition. This was mainly developed to reduce the unwanted power consumption with the use of IR and PIR sensors. This paper was accepted in the international conference on smart grid technologies conducted by Elsevier procedia technology. I am extremely proud to state that I am one of the few students from the entire college who has attended such …show more content…
So I did many In-plant trainings but this wasn’t enough to quench my thirst for practical knowledge. So I did a three month internship with Abond strands private limited company, one of the chief manufacturers and exporters of switch gears. From which I learnt a lot about circuit breakers their operations, production and testing. I had also used my spare time to teach the government school children and shared my knowledge and experience with them. I envisage myself as a teacher and researcher – either in industry or in the university. I would definitely like to see myself in the role of a teacher to undergraduates. In fact, that’s something I would enjoy immensely. Now I would like to take my knowledge to the next level by doing a master’s degree. Because I believe research is necessary to acquire data and formulate theories, but it is just as important to know how to apply those theories and use that data in the real world. To be competent I will require a master’s degree. A master’s degree will give me the up-to-date knowledge that is need of the

My interest in physics was initially ignited during my sophomore year. I signed up for AP Physics 1, taught by a teacher in his first year, right out of college. His main goal was to encourage students to apply physics to the world around them and identify the relevancy of the course material. I was immediately hooked and I bought book after book about Einstein's Theory of Relativity, the Big Bang, and quantum mechanics. I was eager to learn as much as I could; in doing so, I realized that working in a laboratory setting, conducting experiments and applying equations, is something that I am truly passionate about.…

Education has always been a part of my life. Long before my first day of kindergarten, my family’s love of learning has heavily influenced me. My maternal grandfather told me stories of people in places long ago with the same excitement and joy when I was five as he did when I was fifteen. I savor every moment I spend in my Uncle’s living room, their cozy furniture and reading lamps a mere practicality, while the books lining every shelf stole the spotlight. At nearly every stage in my elementary schooling, my mom inspired me to persevere and fought alongside me.…

For me, while classroom lectures remain incredibly enjoyable, the most genuine excitement about learning appears when I apply my knowledge to assist with a real-world problem. I most recently experienced this during my internship in a Biomedical Engineering lab at the University of Delaware, where I developed an accurate automatic confluent cell quantification program. I eagerly approached the problem, hoping that I could accomplish the task that the lab group entrusted to me. During the first week, I devoured hundreds of pages describing various MATLAB techniques and voraciously watched an abundance of videos, testing methods ranging from watershed transforms to edge detection. Every failed trial only served as an inspiration to push myself…

From its inception, electricity has always had a transformative effect on consumers. The smart grid could be the next installment in electricity’s trajectory - a response to a world where resources are scarce and the looming specter of climate change grows more severe each day. The smart grid provides a novel, interconnected response to modern constraints, asking each consumer to take ownership of their needs for the benefit of the entire grid. As the examples herein illustrate, the smart grid can make a meaningful impact on the energy world, diminishing grid-wide congestion while simultaneously empowering individuals and communities. The path forward, however, is far from secure.…

When I began my first metals machining class in 2014, I would have never had the notion that it would mean as much to me as it does today. I did not actually think that I would want to make it my life-long career. I was uncertain that machining was the right path for me until I began my internship at Council Tool Company. The internship swayed my opinion of assembly workers or even an average labor job. I soon come to the realization that a heated and air conditioned workplace was for me.…
