In particular, power generation always fascinated me. For the past certain years my country was experiencing some serious issues in power generation sector and one of the main reasons was that 60% of power generated were consumed by street lights which were switched on even when they were not needed. This made me want to contribute something to my nation that would solve this problem. So I developed an article smart intelligent street light, this enables the street lights to adjust automatically based on real time traffic conditions and changes according to naturalistic condition. This was mainly developed to reduce the unwanted power consumption with the use of IR and PIR sensors. This paper was accepted in the international conference on smart grid technologies conducted by Elsevier procedia technology. I am extremely proud to state that I am one of the few students from the entire college who has attended such …show more content…
So I did many In-plant trainings but this wasn’t enough to quench my thirst for practical knowledge. So I did a three month internship with Abond strands private limited company, one of the chief manufacturers and exporters of switch gears. From which I learnt a lot about circuit breakers their operations, production and testing. I had also used my spare time to teach the government school children and shared my knowledge and experience with them. I envisage myself as a teacher and researcher – either in industry or in the university. I would definitely like to see myself in the role of a teacher to undergraduates. In fact, that’s something I would enjoy immensely. Now I would like to take my knowledge to the next level by doing a master’s degree. Because I believe research is necessary to acquire data and formulate theories, but it is just as important to know how to apply those theories and use that data in the real world. To be competent I will require a master’s degree. A master’s degree will give me the up-to-date knowledge that is need of the
