On March 18, 2017, at Smyrna Christian church, the Ehme family ran their fifth annual Engineering Day for their homeschool group, The Home School Fellowship. Teens Michael, Daniel, and Elizabeth Ehme each ran one of the three stations. All the participants entered their cardboard cars to race for a chance to win a trophy in the rubber-band- powered car race.
Mr. Jeffery Ehme, the head organizer of the event, said, “Engineering Day allows the kids to have fun while learning,” and they did just that. At Elizabeth’s station the children learned about water movement and gravity while playing with water wheels and Archimedean screws. First, everybody voted on whose car had the best color design. Next, the participants raced their cars. They competed to see whose car ran the fastest and farthest. Mr. Ehme awarded the winners with golden trophies that he had made of spray-painted wood and matchbox cars.
Six year old James Hatcher won the award for best design with his car, USA, which he had covered with red, white, and blue duct tape to give it a patriotic appearance. When he won, James started jumping around excitedly as Mr. Ehme presented him his trophy.
Michael Ehme with his car, Grease Lightning, won both the distance and speed races. His car traveled over seven feet; however, none of the cars went any great distance with only a few going more than a couple of inches. In fact, one of the adults termed the race as the “Smyrna 40” in respect to inches referring to the short distance that the cars went.
After the activities one of the kids’ grandpare nts, an engineer, talked to everyone for a few minutes about his job, and everybody celebrated Elizabeth’s birthday with brownies and ice

Hirsch, what support does the author give that the police/government are “sure” they have the right man in custody? Because an innocent man would not have hidden in a boat while he was bleeding out without searching for a hospital. If this man were truly innocent he would have called fro cease of fire during the gunfight instead of responding with firing of his own. Although they had proof that he was guilty there is still a chance that he could have been forced to by a group of people, criminals, or terrorists.…
