My entire life I have alway been the student that would not take easy classes to just get by in school. My parents raised me to high standards in everything I did to give me the mindset to succeed. I take challenging classes because they give me the better knowledge than an easy class; many of the classes I have taken give college credit. The drive I get to pursue my education in the most challenging way possible comes from my parents always being there to push me farther. That drive will prepare me for my future career and college. The majority of people in today's world think, money first, interest second, when looking for there career of choice. I want a career I enjoy everyday, I am interested with how everyday things work, how they are made, and why it is being produced. All these factors fall into the engineering category in which I am very interested in pursuing. I wouldn't consider myself an inventor, but an innovator. For example, when two different cars pass by I want to know what separates the two, what is the engineering difference between them. It happens with everything I look at, it becomes a question in my mind, a curiosity of how it could be improved or changed. I plan to go to Des Moines Area Community College for one year, then take three years of college at Iowa State University to earn my four year degree. After I earn my four year degree I will be going to Universal Technical Institute to further my knowledge in the automotive field. Having my degree from ISU and certificate from UTI will be the backbone of my career. I will find a job where I can put my knowledge to use.
