Professionalism & Self Care: Engages in reflection, self-care and self-assessment and demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning. I am aware that the proper skills and knowledge are important in becoming a professional. Counselor consistently seeks out self-care and prevention of burnout activities. In addition, the counselor participates in various continuing education and staff development activities that directly develop the counselor’s expertise in counseling. My qualities are just as important in determining success to me and to others. Limitations do not get in the way of my working success. Developing skills takes time. I plan on making time to perfect my professional skills to help me become an effective human service professional.
