In comparing the film to the play Enemy of the People in regard to the mood, texture, color and feel of how I imagined the play was based on what the author wrote. The play takes place in a Norwegian Town. The doctor fights to expose the truth of the springs. When the Doctor goes off, the true message of the play is revealed. Some people describe the play as “a direct assault on the foundation of democracy.” I think both the play and film were portrayed well. It had a good message being that the doctor’s character is a man of principle, willing to fight for what he believes in no matter what the cost. His dedication is on display throughout the play, as he is steadily stripped of position in society, his home, and his job for refusing to be silent about the town's unhealthy and contaminated springs. The fact that people of power were trying to hide the truth about the contamination instead of trying to save people’s lives was the real problem. If the city had more people like ‘Mr. Stockmann’ who was willing to fight no matter the cost, I believe that crisis may have not been a ‘crisis’ at
