A sticker is a type of label. Labels are an imaginary display of a bar code or serial number. Labels indicate product details to a consumer and also informs them about maintenance procedures. Labels also show its environmental, industry or consumer standards, such as UL certification as well as branding information.

Applications for labels is to help assemblers certify the integrity of their products and deal with warranty claims is growing very fast, like labels can indicate whether a consumer has misused or abused an assembly.
