The author uses specific techniques to create vivid events in order to produce meaningful text in the story. Cassie and the Logan family leaves to Strawberry and an angry fight breaks out with Cassie and Lillian Jean. In the story it says, “‘She made me apologize to to that ole ugly Lillian Jean ‘bout something wasn’t even my fault.’” Cassie becomes frustrated for being treated harshly, which ties it back to the thesis, since Cassie becomes very defensive to show that it was unfair for her to apologize for something she has not done. Afterward, when the Logan family reach home, Cassie burst out into a tantrum over what happened at Strawberry. “‘Had to do it!’ I practically screamed, ‘She didn’t have to do nothing!’” The evidence shows Cassie
