Listening, however, is also portrayed heavily within this movie. The types of listening that are portrayed consist of receiving messages, understanding them, evaluating them, and then responding to them, and in this occasion, messages between Marty and Claire. Reference to these listening types can be drawn back to the scene in which Marty had told Claire that she was named a “dog”, which was taken harshly. Therefore, Marty understood Claire's nonverbal feedback, understood the message, evaluated it (by counteracting the offensive comment) and responded by complimenting Claire as “the most beautiful women” he has ever seen. Secondly, during the scene in which Marty was excessively talking and stopping himself in between to let Claire get a say, he mentioned how “this is who I am”, meaning he talks excessively and has rarely done this before (in hopes of a possible marriage with Claire). Claire then receives …show more content…
Secondly, Marty's self-concept appeared to be negative as he is negatively depicted by social comparisons, his own interpretations of himself, and his cultural teachings and contributed by mainly pressurizing Marty to get married. Thirdly, culture played a role in this film by mixing American culture, which was depicted as polychronic in the film, and Italian, which was seen as monochronic, and how Marty must get married as soon as possible and not rot his life away. Lastly, the types of listening incorporated within this film mainly include receiving, understanding, evaluating, and responding and of which many examples in the film can vouch for. Therefore, the “Marty” film contains a plentiful amount of interpersonal communication, which creates the entirety of the movie

I doubt that Alex got pregnen, if she was obssesed with Dan she could have made everything up. The 1989 film “Glory” is an historical film based on the true events of the 54th Massachusetts Regiment, which took place on June 18, 1863 in Charleston, South Carolina. The 54th regiment was one of the first infantries to enlist Black soldiers in the war and was led by Colonel Robert Gould Shaw. Despite their shortcomings and adversities as African American men in America, these men were tenacious and very determined to succeed the war at Fort Wagner. Although this film highlights these powerful and impactful scenes that occurred on that fateful night, a majority of these scenes were over exaggerated and sugarcoated for a much more cinematic effect.
