Endometriosis And Adenomyosis Comparison

Endometriosis was first pinpointed as what it is known as today by Thomas Cullen in 1920.He was the first to describe Endometriosis and Adenomyosis. Adenomyosis occurs when endometrial tissue, that normally lines the uterus, is present in and develops into the muscular wall of the uterus. He diagnosed and described Endometriosis and Adenomyosis as one disorder represented by the existence of endometrium-like tissue outside the uterine cavity. (Brosens) We haven’t learned much about the diseases since. However, we now know that describe Endometriosis and Adenomyosis are two separate disorders and should not be confused or combined with one another. Endometriosis is a disorder where there is growth of functioning endometrial tissue in other places
