Endocrine disrupters are chemicals that may interfere with the bodies endocrine system and produce adverse development, reproductive, neurological, and immune effects in both humans and wild life. These disrupters can mimic natural occurring hormones in the body like estrogens, androgens, and thyroid hormones. They can bind to the receptor within a cell and block the hormone from binding and altering the natural production of hormones.
