Ender's Game Reflective Essay

Thanks to the book Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, I can now say I have been blessed to have read the magic that is Orson Scott Card’s writing. As I continued to read my fiction based independent study unit, the book has only become more enveloping due to the flourishing relationship between the reader and the characters, along with the expansion in the books world since the last section. It has gotten to the point where it seems as though every time I flip a page in this section of the book, there is another obstacle attempting to interfere with Ender’s progress. Interferences such as; the letter from his sister (Card 186) and the giants game (Card 177) have made me come to the conclusion that the conflict inside of these obstructions may just be the leading theme throughout the novel as well as it being the driving force. The novel …show more content…
These categories are not there by coincidence, but due to the pure genius that is Orson Scott Card. These are all very open categories that were conjured up so we would have a superior connection to the book without even acknowledging it. I had no acknowledgment that these issues were prevalent till I sat down and looked at the grand scheme of things. That is when I fully realized that these categories were made so we can relate and make connections to the novel and our beloved main character Ender Wiggin on a more personal level. Once I came to the realization, I looked back and realized that I have formed a bond with Ender due to the author's ability to personify him by giving him an important real life trait; emotion. Ender’s Game is so meticulously crafted that there is a connection in the book for everyone and everything (events like war), there are very few things that are unrelatable to the book due to

In the Ender’s Game by Orson Scott, the author uses irony to create meaning and conflict in the story. Some of this irony includes Enders treatment as a peer to the other kids, he is treated poorly but comes out on top. Also, Ender's personal conflict with being a hero. First, in the Ender’s Game, Enders age creates meaning in the story through the flipped image of adults no longer being the smarter and more wise age group. Now kids 9, 8, 7, and even 6 years old are smarter.…

Ender’s Game Adaptation Movie Review Gavin Hood’s Adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game is an adventurous thrill ride. Ender Wiggin played by Asa Butterfield, is a third that was not really appreciated for being the third child in his family, a third that ended up being a successful recruit for the Battle School, where Ender is being pushed to his breaking point with all of the lies they are feeding him. It seems this movie took a lot of time and effort to create, with all of the scenes and technology upgrades. This movie is a good adaptation to the book because it brings all of the action moments in the book to the screen.…

Ender was an isolated, third born young man who was raised knowing he had to defeat the buggers. He was forced by his family and the government who told him he was born for one reason and one reason only, to defeat the buggers. At a young age, Ender was recruited into Battle School to learn how to fight the buggers and he did so well that he became the best commander and moved up to Command school to control the simulator. When he was fighting in the “simulated games”, he was actually fighting real buggers and was in real battles, but he didn’t find this out until every bugger was killed. The book was better than the movie because the book had more details and action while the movie left many details…

The censorship and banning of books has impacted society greatly due to the the editing of books or complete prohibition of reading them. Books can be banned for many reasons says Debra Whelan, “The reasons range from a book’s sexual content and gay themes to its language and violence.” Similar content is evident in Ender’s Game causing it to be banned in many places. Ender’s Game is about a boy name Andrew “Ender” Wiggin who, at six years old, was selected to join the International Fleet (I.F.) to fight the aliens (Buggers) who have threatened to invade Earth. He excels at Battle School and is sent to Command School, where he fights the Buggers through simulations.…

Ender’s Game is a 1985 military sci-fi novel written by Orson Scott Card, and like other novels, is accommodated by various themes and motifs. In this essay, I will cover one of the motifs that have been sited in the novel—games. In the novel, there are five games in total (excluding the one in the novel’s title): the Mind Game (also known as the Fantasy Game, or the Giant’s Drink), the Game and Battle Room, the simulator in Eros, and the game of “Astronauts and Buggers” that Peter and Ender play practically at the opening of the novel. These games have one thing in common—they are all played by Ender, and are all won by Ender (except for “Astronauts and Buggers”).…

With the Buggers on the brink of returning, Graff and Anderson are to ensure Ender can be the best soldier possible, regardless of what they do to get there.
