06 October 2017 Ender’s Game - Protagonist Traits In every story, there is a protagonist. Sometimes even multiple. This protagonist is commonly known as the main character, the character who builds the foundation of the story. In the classic novel Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, little Ender Wiggin is our story’s protagonist. Throughout Ender’s time in space, training for the third Bugger war, many traits determined his overall personality, but three stood out the most. These would be the young boy’s bravery, intelligence, and perseverance.

Through many battles, Ender proved that he was 100% able to strategize in solo and team combat, even directing an army of his own. Under pressure and even in unfair situations, he showed that he could still claim victory for himself and his troops. Without these abilities, Ender would never be qualified to engage in battle, let alone command hundreds of troops in an intergalactic war. This trait most definitely boosts Ender’s confidence, which also gives him the trait of bravery that we previously discussed.
Ender’s last essential trait is his perseverance, the non existent force that pushes the boy further. For years, he was in school training for an intergalactic war, and for years, he worked to the best of his ability. He pushed himself and his army as far as they could go, even when they were faced with extremely unfair challenges. Because of this trait, he advanced through his intergalactic training very quickly, coming out victorious through every obstacle. Without his perseverance, Ender would have never made it so far, thus meaning that he would’ve never beaten the
