Ender Wiggin Character Analysis

Throughout his Battle school career, Ender Wiggin has proven that he is a bright and capable student, and so I have thusly made a conclusion. Ender should be a commander because he demonstrates many qualities that are essential for a strong leader including patience, problem solving, creativity, and maintaining a balance between humility and pride. The first leadership trait Ender demonstrates is patience. We learned this whenEnder was the commander of dragon army because “he stayed to help some of the slower ones improve on technique” (Card 164). Ender demonstrates patience with less skillful soldiers instead of putting them to the side like Bonzo did with him. Commander Graff believes that Ender possesses the problem solving skills after Ender beats the mind game, and even says “Isn't it nice to know Ender can do the impossible” (Card 66). Ender uses his problem solving skills to help him win the Giant’s Game even when he is angry and frustrated. Ender uses this skill to work his way around a seemingly impossible situation by believing that there is more than just two options. Ender also demonstrates creativity in the battle room by taking a different approach to the game. Ender believes that “the object of the game was to fall toward the enemy’s home” (Card 89). Ender always finds the most effective approach to help him win the game with the least number of casualties.
