Turtles are being used for soup, Pangolin’s bodies are being used for skin treatment and elephants are killed for ivory tusks. Welcome to the world of endangered animals in China. Poaching of endangered animals started happening in the 1900's when the Chinese made a law for animals welfare and animal rights. Chinese people wanted these endangered animals for food, medicine, showing off when guests come over, valuable items, uniqueness and to sell animal products. Some might say there is a lot to help out these going extinct animals. Although others say it will take too much money and time. According to the University of Southern California, “Humans have been taking animals habitats for buildings, houses, energy and power.”The Chinese are invading animal habitats through industrial progress to fit their human needs. Due to humans advancing in industrial progress and finding different energy sources, it is leading to humans taking over the endangered animals homes. The Chinese demands are energy, paper and minerals through industrial progress it has been destroying the wildlife. In big cities like Beijing the pollution is unbearable. The filth from pollution has had the Chinese even wear face masks to filter the air. But, what about the animals? These creatures live in the pollution too. However the same smog is going into the animals houses and making them sick. This reflects in human privileges may be going too far. Additionally, according to the Deforestation and desertification in China,”illegal logging and slash and burn agriculture consume up to 5,000 square kilometers of virgin forest every year.”China is chopping down many trees each year to meet their needs,1.3 million cubic meters of timber are cut down each year for disposable chopsticks.
