Universities Requirements It is really competitive getting accepted into a reputable in state or out of state university. Although a 4.0 un-weighted GPA is no longer the only requirement for acceptance into a good university, it is still essential. Extraordinary SAT or ACT score, extracurricular activities, leadership skills, class rank, and volunteer activities can also influence college admission.
• Accelerated classes: Universities prefer that the student sign up for challenging classes such as AP , Honors, or dual enrollment classes.
• GPA: They also seek consistency by ensuring that the students’ grades were high from 9th grade to 12th grade. Low grades in the first years of high school and attempting to catch up later, will hurt admission into college. In case of extenuating circumstances, the student may add this information explaining the problem; universities love to see a student succeed in spite of issues.
• Class ranking: Class ranking is also important, since the student will be competing with valedictorian applicants.
