They are not weak, they are not emotional, and they are not the negative stereotypes that the world describes them as. “Trifles,” “Story of an Hour,” and “My Wicked Wicked Ways,” presents us with three women who are strong, mentally and emotionally. These three women: Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Mallard, and the speaker’s mother stories all relate in a way. The author, Jamaica Kincaid in her piece “Girl”, chooses to write and develop her text as a memoir to better connect with her readers. The conflicts that are expected in a mother and daughter relationship, is a relatable issue and can allow others to become more emotionally involved with this composition. Throughout the text the author also distinguishes how the mother tends to develop a darker, more critical side that is intended to guide her daughter to reach societal expectations for her. Without the piece being a memoir, my conclusion of how the daughter is effected by her mother’s critical demands would not be reached. Considering this, I believe a memoir conducts the best strategy to convey this confliction between a mother and daughter.…

It starts out with Wayne driving down the street and stopping at the stop light, listening to his radio. It’s a cold, windy day, and he looks outside to see two people sitting on a bench, huddling together, trying to find warmth.…

There is a couple things I could probably tell you about myself like how i’m a major fan of Walking Dead and Law and order or that I have an unhealthy obsession of doughnuts, sushi, and Mexican food. I could go on and on for days about my dog. But the things I could tell you about myself would probably be a paragraph so instead I would like to talk about my family because they are a huge part of who I am today. I am the oldest of eight grandchildren ranging from 21 to 1 years old but if we were standing side by side you would probably think i’m the youngest because i’m so short and people don’t believe me when I say my age. We are a super competitive family, we enjoy staying up till 3 am Saturday night playing multiple games of monopoly or…

I've found it easier to not talk about it to avoid questions I won’t want to answer. But I’ve come to realize that everything happens for a reason.…
