I appreciate the hard work that the paramedics and EMTs do for the communities. I spent a day with the paramedics and EMTs in Memphis as part of my training in combat medic training. Even though I rode along for only eight hours, it was a very eventful day. I learned that it takes a very unique person to be a paramedic or EMT. I believe that your organization’s implementation of the employee of the month probably started off with good intentions, but I can see where the plaque only award would lower morale.
