Examples Of Empower Yourself Essay

The definition of empowerment is, “The process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights,” (Google). The question was, is it more effective to empower yourself or empower others? It is more effective to empower yourself rather than empower someone else. This is because when you empower yourself, you are able to make your own decision, experience more and have the ability to persevere. One reason that empowering yourself is more important than empowering other is because when you empower yourself, you are able to make decisions that benefit you. An example of this is in the poem “The Road Not Taken” shows how the person in the poem was able to make his own decisions which road he took, also known as which life he wanted to have. “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.” If the person in the poem was empowered by someone else he could have a more bias decision on what road to pick.
