Within the health care sector there are many principles of support that ensure that patients are cared for in health care setting. Some of the support includes empowerment, equality and diversity, confidentiality, human rights and human dignity. According to Rungapadiachy (2008) the process of empowerment is when people gain mastery over their affairs; therefore it would be the patients right to somewhat take charge in their life and be empowered to make their own decisions.
